Mary Hill Loops Deck Designs.

Long time no posts. Hopefully that's going to change. I finally have some free time, so I'm hoping to do some more work on Red.

Here's a design for a deck celebrating Mary Hill Loops Road. Since it's a northwest thing I went for a more native design. I love drawing these heads. I wish the whole board had been pushed that way. Maybe next time.

Lot's of options for the client. Usually I wouldn't do that, but I change colors and added things at the last minute. This was I can give them what I think works best, and still what I promised. The close ups are for halftones. I love that old school comic book vibe you get with a cheap PS filter.

Also, I wanted to promote a real cool show over in Italy. Daniel Docui and Kekai have work in it. So do a ton of other great artists (seriously, check out the list).

I had the opportunity to potentially be in it, but did not respond to the e-mail right away (My 1 year old, my 5 year old, and several freelance gigs, plus more was all exploding at once) , and then forgot about it. Forgetting about that e-mail cost me a paid trip to one of the few cities I feel I must visit before I die. Let that be a lesson to us all, respond to e-mails immediately.

Here's the link to the site, check it out, and if you can, go to the show! http://www.theartofgames.eu/

Quick Colors.

Final? Maybe.

Hoodie

I sort of forgot that these were supposed to be quick fun pieces. Here's the inks for a quick Red Riding Hood.

Moby Wolf

So I know this needs some work, but I'm going to stop here for now. I'm excited to move on.

Moby Wolf

Wow! The last image was so well received, I don't think I can top it! Well, there's plaenty more illustrations to go, so maybe one of the can surpass it. Probably not this one. It was really fun to work on. On the first night I was about to go to bed when I realized how utterly ridiculous this idea was. I still tried to treat it with seriousness, but sometimes I would giggle thinking about what it was. Might be a night or too before I can color it.

Just to be clear, I'm having fun. :)

Wolf Wave Color

I wonder if this works. i like it, but I really liked the original lines. I'm all paranoid I ruined it. I have a hard time judging my art.

Brazil

For the same forum, this time I got Brazil, one of my favorite movies of all time. These are fun, just bang em' out and don't worry about them to much. Unlike Pan's I felt a little more at ease with this one. I like a lot of things in it. Might rework it one day and spend more than a couple of hours on it.

It Begins

So I'm realizing, I suck at drawing girls/women, and I suck at drawing dogs (wolves). Why did I pick a self project concerning wolves and a girl. What was I thinking.

Any way, so here it is, the first piece of line art. The paper I ordered was creased, that's what that line is that I'm going to have to clone out. I chopped all the pieces in half, so half of each sheet is fine. I figured I would mess up the first one, so I used a creased piece first. The I ended up liking it. Oh well. Maybe the crease freed me up to not worry about 'ruining' the art.

At any rate, I'm excited to start this.

redWOLF

So here's the plan. After visiting Emerald City Comic Con (My first comic con) I decided to try and get a booth and sell some goods next year. One idea I like is putting together book called redWOLF, 30 pages of drawings in different styles based on Little Red Riding Hood. I think it could be cool. I'm also hoping to get one issue of Gunda done. That is scarier.

The tables go on sale in August, depending on how much I have finished will decide whether I'm going to print up the books or not. I'm thinking fifty books, but if I get a pretty positive response I might print up more.

Would you buy one?

5 minute goof off.

Well...maybe 10. Been wanting to mess around with Painter again, but very limited time, so this is what you get.

Oh Hansel...

Done for now. This was a fun piece, but it became unfun. Lost momentum due to time constraints and it just ended up being boring and frustrating to work on. I might revisit it someday, but not for now.
