Do you know where squid come from? Well if you don't, here's the answer. The Great Mamma Squid, otherwise known as the Queen Mother. She grows polyp like tendrils that eventually turn into tentacled arms, or break off and form into every kind of squid in the world. It's true, I saw it on Discovery.

The chosen final. Sick wife, slightly rushed at he end. I found that dark line and bold color works best for these boards. Might paint this one up in a softer style.

Little Mermaid

So another studio called us out months ago. The challenge, re-imagined Disney characters. I began a Snow White image, but lost the line art and realized it was going to take more time than I had. So after months of being able to work on it, it comes down to last night. I quickly drew this image. It was safe and easy. I spent a little over an hour on it, and about fifteen minutes throwing gradients and a quick color version. I think it turned out alright, although I haven't had a chance to really look at it yet...so I'm sure that will change. Apologies to Peter Clarke, who I totally ripped off.

Out of time...

Well, lots happened recently and it looks like I'm going to miss the Spectrum deadline. Kind of a bummer, I was hoping that would be a yearly thing. Still, I never wanted to make work just to try and get in, I think that would be a huge mistake. It would kill any piece I tried to do.

Also my laptop has been out of commission for a bit here, which is what I use to do my digital art. I spent a couple days in Microsoft Excel, it was not too bad, but when the chance arose during a long meeting to doodle; I jumped at it. Believe it or not, I focus more clearly when I doodle and listen. Otherwise my mind wanders and I don't hear a thing.
