New TV!

I don't watch many shows anymore. Well sort of. I get quite a few through Netflix, but they're usually HBO or Showtime shows (watch The Wire!). It's partly because I don't have cable, partly because I have to lug out an old old TV with an antennae. I do try try to watch Earl and The Office though. I'm a pretty big Office fan. Wasn't their best episode, but still fun. Anyway; when TV comes out, so do the sketches. I draw a lot while watching TV. Here's a 2 things I drew. There was a lot more to the cyclops kid, but I cropped it out. Trust me it's better like this. I did others, but they're super loose, or half finished things. There's one I want to clean and finish.

A teensy bit more...

Not much time last night. Trying to get more sleep, so I went to bed early.....and finished a book... late.

Slusho RAR!

My nerd horns are growing. I started another Cloverfield monster last night. Changed a bit, I'll describe it all when it's finished.

On another note, I was going through old art last night. I used to keep all my sketches in these big binders. It was funny, I came across the ideas for the Dune sandworms from a 1997 that where basically long worm whales with tons of little flappy fins. Not to different from the first monster I did. It was sort of a Miyazaki take on the Dune universe. If I get un-lazy I'll scan and post them.

It's pretty funny how popular that last pic was. It's easily my most viewed piece of internet art. I wish I had spent a little longer on it!

A wee bit more...

Not much time this weekend. Done for now. Add what I think the story will be when I write it.

1-18-08

Holy nerdhorns Batman! So I'm going geek over this new monster movie. There's a contest to win shirts and stuff at another forum; just come up with your version of the monster and how you think the story will play out. I thought it'd be fun. I wanted something cool, that matched the roar you hear (it seemed a bit sad and whale-ish to me ((Here's the roar: Eeeeeeoooooooorooooooooo!)), but still had some of the campiness of a Godzilla monster. I thought giant whale lice would be perfect for attacking the citizens while the biggy stomps New York.

On a side note, I think I'm totally into this, because I have no idea what it is. I'm so tired of figuring out a movie from the teaser, and never being wrong. This time...there's nothing to go on. The movie will probably suck, because it can never live up to the hype, but man what a great teaser that was. I think it took them by surprise.
