the colors work very nicely. I think the lines in the original drawing help show the form of the big wolf head more, but the colors really make everything pop and adds some intensity. just out of curiosity, what did you color this in, PS? Painter? or is this all real paint?
Hey Doug, Your MTT submissions were pretty cool, so I followed your link over here to your blog. Good work here (though I had also seen quite a few of these in your final work thread).
About this post in particular, I had a bit of a revelation the other day. I don't think a finished piece of art is for the artist who does it. The process is our part. The finished piece is for everyone else, so it isn't our place (right?) to judge the value of it. I've done quite a few things that I wasn't crazy about, but that other people really liked. Who am I to say they are wrong? Anyway, it really helped free me up to not worry or fuss so much over what I make.
The pencil sketch is nice and for those of us who love to try to figure out how you do your art is fun to examine. However the color really does make it more commercial and it will appeal to a broader base. Both cool but red is better for the book.
..Haha just kiddin man, I'm not even sure what that meant when you told me that, but this is killer, like you and James Jean had a hot love child, and I want her number.

Hey Doug, I love this, it's perfect.
How would you like it to appear on the cover of an anthology? Drop me a line if you're interested krazybov[at]gmail[dot]com
