Nerdy Fan Art

I like alternate takes on reality. Sometimes it's fun just to think of what sort of books or shows would be on tv in a show or film. Like the commercials in Robocop, or the recent look into the alternate earth on Fringe. Anyway, quick book cover from the District 9 universe. Tried to get that vibe that a pop book cover would have, not necessarily what I would create, but what I think would show up on a Borders shelf.

Looks like oils and watercolour. nice nerdy work :) - eventhough it looks like abit of abstract. Personally I don't like abstract, cause I grew up with classmates "loving abstracts" just because they weren't able to paint good readable works. This way others wouldn't tell them that the perspectives were off, anatomy were incorrect etc...or maybe I choose the hard way and challange myself :P

Keep posting mate. I'm digging alot of your works.

Cool Idea! I made something like that myself with "World War Z" by Max Brooks. Check it out on my Blog:

Aside as a graphic designer i think this cover came out great!! Love the simplicity but yet it has a level of complexity in it as well. Love the type, Gotham?
